The Perks of Being a Wallflower Book & Film

Hey you. Yes. You.

Six words. Three of Meaning. Three not of.

Read the book, right now. Just go into your local Waterstones and just buy it.

Then walk right into a cinema. Buy that ticket and watch that film.

That is all.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower Music

Recently, I watched a beautiful film that many of you will have heard about. It's called The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and indie film set out to strike hope and love into the hearts of teenagers everywhere.
Anyway, a big review will be coming up shortly! But first, I wanted to introduce to you the beautiful soundtrack of the film...

Now I, being one of your typical teenagers, have a very good relationship with music. It's there when you cry, when you laugh and with you through your life.

The music of this film is some of the best that I have ever heard coming from a movie.

*Just a little health warning - I have a very indie taste in music and I appreciate that a lot of you will turn your noses up in disgust at most of the songs in the film!*

Dear God - XTC

Pearly Dewdrops ' drops - Cocteau Twins

Charlie's Last Letter - Michael Brook (The official composer of the soundtrack)

Low - Cracker

Teenage Riot - Sonic Youth

Heroes - David Bowie (The Tunnel Song)

Could it be another change - The Samples (One of my personal favourites)

Asleep - The Smiths (absolutely lush, lovely lyrics also one of my faves)

Temptation - New Order (You'll love it, slightly more upbeat)

Evensong - The Innocence Mission (love)

Tugboat - Galaxie 500

Pretend That We're Dead (Classic Rock grunge, the video link has awful quality)

Don't Dream It's Over - Crowded House

Come On Eileen - Dexy's Midnight Runners (COME ON EVERYBODY KNOWS IT, instant pain relief)

Don't Dream it's Over - Crowded House (simply great)

Too cute!

Hey guys, how was your weekend?
Mine was good but very hectic - hence the lack of posting! Went to a very pretty garden in Hampshire today and took some lovely shots - follow my instagram for a few : B3CC4 L0U and some others will be up tomorrow! In depth beauty post as well tomorrow.

Sorry, I'm in a rush - BYEEEEE!

Friday 5 October 2012

According to my mother it's not yet cold enough to turn the heating on. This, in theory, makes sense because it is going to get a lot colder and therefore we will be in more need of heating. Her reasoning behind this is how damaging unnecessary electricity use is to the environment. Fair enough you may think. But in practise it is so could that even a polar bear couldn't function. I can't wait until the actual Winter comes so that she will give in to the luxury of central heating. But until then, let's hope I don't catch hypothermia.

Remember, there is no inappropriate weather just inappropriate clothing.

Hahahhaha. no.

Stay warm, guys.

TUESDAY

Hey Guys!

Today is Tuesday
(cue Miranda-like voice http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98SFgAp4ucg)
which means......

IT'S REVIEW TIME

Most of the drug store brands I have come across tend to suck at making decent nail polishes, but Barry M has not disappointed. Usually I go into Superdrug just to have a quick look and wander over to the Barry M stall expecting to find nothing that particularly takes my fancy. This time, however, I walked over and discovered that my particular branch of Superdrug had changed the layout and I found that they had also stocked up on nail paints from Barry M that I had never seen before (how long were they out of stock!?) Instead of the usual 10 colours they usually had on display they now had the full collection. The first colour that caught my eye was a beautiful light lemon shade that would have been perfect for summer. So, knowing me I bought it. Even though it is now Autumn (Fall).
.Nail Paint - Lemon Ice Cream
The second shade that also looked very attractive was this beautiful emerald green colour with a nice shimmer to it. It somehow reminds me of Christmas and I'm sure you'll see it pop up in quite a few favourites blog posts because the colour is simply divine!
Nail Paint - Emerald Green
After trying out both the colours I have to say (for drug store products) I'm impressed! The Emerald green has a beautiful shimmer that looks stunning on both short and long nails. It only needed two very thin coats to get the desired effect and even with just one coat it looked amazing! The yellow, unfortunately, disappointed me as I was expecting a much more vibrant but at the same time lighter shade of yellow. I guess I was silly from thinking that a yellow could be opaque and not look like mustard. Only what could have been expected of only £6 from my pocket (for both).

I LOVE BARRY M THOUGH.

Bye for now!

Becca xx

Minecraft

I am not your typical girl. Okay, I like shoes and make-up. But really my heart is with video games and consoles. At the moment, my go-to game (if you like) is Minecraft. And, believe me, if I sacrifice my school grades for a game it must be good! (Don't worry, I am doing homework as well - all ten pages of my art coursework!)

So, why do I have an obsession with a bad-graphics game with blocks of pixels? Well, I personally believe that graphics do not make a game - but the pure content and enjoyability of it.
The controls are easy to use, the concept is awesome and - to be quite frank - I don't give a flying monkeys if I am considered 'gay' or 'geeky' to be playing it.

Another thing currently making it's way into my favourites is Doctor Who. Okay, it's always been awesome (in my lifetime anyway) but it's only just really captured my attention. I think what makes me love it so much is the complicated story lines. They take quite a few presses of the rewind button just to understand exactly what's going on, but that's what adds to the experience of Doctor Who.

*I may also have the teeniest crush on Matt Smith. Shhhhh*

So today's lesson is;
Don't do what everyone else does. Because, if you are being someone else. Then what's the point of YOU being YOU. It sounds pathetic, and it probably is, but just be yourself. And enjoy it.

Bye Guys! Xx

Apologies

Well hello there Monday, I did not see you there!

Ugh. It's Autumn (Fall) which means it's time to get out the germs and colds and spread them as far and as wide as possible. I spent both yesterday and Saturday afternoon cuddled up in bed watching as many films as I possibly could. *Sigh* Therefore I forgot to blog my exciting post - A makeup tutorial with Brittany! However, the pictures completely crashed and burned and left me with nothing to work with but a couple of photos taken on my phone which are not even worthy of being uploaded. So guys, I will have to go out and make it up to you.

So, in the meantime here is a cute picture of my hand taken today. Remember guys - Keep Smiling and that life isn't as hard as you think it is! You will always find a way to make it better!

And with that scarily deep thought!

Au Revoir!

Testing, testing 123

This is my first blog post from my phone, can you see it? Haha - my computer's playing up and being a stupid piece of junk so I decided to write this post from my phone and see how it turned out. Also a quick reminder to check out some of the beautiful people I follow on both YouTube and blogger - you can find them at the side of my blog! Au revoir for now my lovelies! I've got a special post (and maybe a video) coming up tomorrow! Xx

Friday Frustration

So today I had a day off from school due to it's open evening next week. This should be a much enjoyed day for me. But it isn't. Whilst everyone is outside getting absolutely crazily drunk, I will be at home drinking my hot chocolate and sneezing everywhere.Thank Goodness for all things electrical, I think to myself as I snuggle down on the sofa ready for three consecutive back-to-back episodes of Ugly Betty. However, one can quickly bore of so many episodes of an unfortunate girl in a big city so I decided to: have a shower, watch as many YouTube videos as I could, sleep, blog, tweet, Facebook, sleep, watch TV, paint my nails, eat junk food and more sleep.

Also, Friday's are usually an opportunity to review the week's events and question 'why the hell did I do that' as you remember each embarrassing social mistake you  made.

Ah, Happy Friday Everyone.

Thursday 27 September 2012

Thursday and Awkward Encounters of the Boy Kind.

It's always awkward starting a blog. Talking at (at the moment) non-existent followers that don't even personally know you. Also, you haven't even established your audience yet. Which makes talking to 'them' very difficult. Oh well, hey ho - I'd better give it a go! What's the worst that could happen?

Well, today is Thursday. We're supposed to love Thursdays. It's near the end of the week and you can just about see the weekend on the horizon. But for me - it's homework day. Time to enjoy the goodness of GCSE English and revise for my History Exam next week. I pour a boiling mug of the finest coffee, sit at my desk and try to summon up all of the brain power I can to write up 500 words in French (Bonjour, Je m'appelle) and I get on with it, frequently sipping at my cup of coffee.

Now, this is all very interesting (!) but I must get on with what I intended to write about today, and that is the deeply troubling matter of High School boys. They've finally matured and realised that girls are what they want right now, and start wondering how they're going to get them. Some of the ugly brutes succeed, but others are not so successful. So boys, if you are reading this and currently having trouble with the laaaaadiies, worry no more for I have the experience and advice that will teach you the do's and don'ts of trying to get the gurl.

***And for the girls reading this, don't you agree? Leave a comment below if you do!***

Firstly, Do be nice.
Banter's fine, but don't be mean and rude - that deeply offends us!

Secondly, Don't confuse us.
OK, us girls can be very confusing ourselves but we honestly have no way of avoiding it. However, you flirting with us and then moving straight onto the next girl is just not on.

Thirdly, Don't always online-message us.
You don't like it and neither do we! Being bothered all the time by someone who you don't normally talk to or just don't like is annoying. Talk to us in the real-world and I can guarantee that you will stand a much better chance of us falling for you.

Finally, Do be yourself.
Fine, fine, I know you read this and sighed. 'That's what they all say' you thought. But no, it's true. Don't be 100% yourself (because of all burping and extreme oddness) but DON'T pretend to be someone you aren't. If a girl doesn't like you yet - that's fine she'll either become really good friends or she may fall for you - you never know.

Oh, and by the way don't comment on her moods - that's a whole load of lecture you never wanna hear.

Au Revoir,

Becca

P.S. I don't like coffee, I realised halfway through the mug. It tastes like ground.
